So I just did a clean installation of CentOS 5 and did all the updates
and such then installed qmail according to Bill's method - except I
did not install courier-imap or squirrelmail.

Everything seemed to install fine.. but I'm having a problem accepting
SMTP connections. The SMTP connection is opened then immediatley
closes. I found this in the smtpd log

@4000000047ac7a4133800b3c /var/qmail/bin/qmail-smtpd: error while
loading shared libraries: libresolv.so.2: failed to map segment from
shared object: Cannot allocate memory

Unfortunately, a google search for this doesn't help much!

Just in case, I installed courier-imap to see if that was some kind of
requirement (though I didn't expect it to help). Didn't really have
any affect.

Finally, I tried the Microsoft solution of rebooting. =) Still no luck.

selinux is set to permissive...
