Hello,

i think that 2 times are too much. I will switch to XFS too (but i
have no experience with it).

How to recover damaged directory (directory new):

drwx------ 2 vmail vmail 7650352 2007-07-23 08:32 cur
-rw------- 1 vmail vmail 2116560 2007-07-23 07:56 dovecot.index
-rw------- 1 vmail vmail 16691200 2007-07-05 12:31 dovecot.index.cache
-rw------- 1 vmail vmail 35260 2007-07-23 08:21 dovecot.index.log
-rw------- 1 vmail vmail 148112 2007-07-22 13:12 dovecot.index.log.2
-rw------- 1 vmail vmail 6596000 2007-07-23 08:21 dovecot-uidlist
-rw------- 1 vmail vmail 0 2007-07-23 08:32 dovecot-uidlist.lock
-rw------- 1 vmail vmail 0 2007-07-04 21:51 maildirfolder
?--------- ? ? ? ? ? new
drwx------ 2 vmail vmail 48 2007-07-04 21:51 tmp

will help /sbin/reiserfsck --check <device> (of course in ro mode)

Thank you.

Well, I don't have any but when I hit that problem I switched to XFS.
Reiserfs liked to go bad on directories with lots of files.

Maciej
