I would suggest following procedure :

1. make sure that new toaster accepts eMails for your domains
2. change the MX records
3. stop email processes on old toaster
4. copy the domains folder to new toaster...

Worked with me ;)

Edvin

Subject: [toaster] migrating from old-toaster to new ???

I have been using toasters for a couple of years. Thank you, thank you,
for providing such a grand framework!

We just built a brand spanking new v0.8.1 toaster, installing literally
everything mentioned on the site, and everything works as expected.
Thank you, again.

There are a couple of things we want to do, that we haven't yet figured
out. This message solicits help on one of those.

We have tried various instantiations of this toaster, rolling our own
stuff on top of qmail, &c.

Now, we have an older toaster (~1.5 years), running sqwebmail; and a
non-webmail toaster; and we want to _move_ those accounts to our new
toaster, including mail sitting on the old boxen. Also, of course,
there are issues of modifying MX and DNS; but, we control DNS on most of
these domains.

What is the recommended process? Is this as simple as tarring up the
entire ~vpopmail/domains/ structure, and un-tarring on the new box? Can
it be that simple?

I use scripts for creating new domains and bulk adding users; so, I
won't have too much trouble going one domain at a time; but, O, the
tedium -- especially if there is some bulk migration process.

What do you think?
