The freshclam.conf and clamd.conf files both need to be edited to make them work. For bill's toaster, however, I see that he has specific instructions to apply 2 patches : patch -p0 < ../tar/clamav-0.85-conf.patch patch -p0 < ../tar/clamav-0.85-freshclamconf.patch Did you do this? I believe the standard clamav install puts those configs in the /etc directory (don't quote me on this, I roll my own rpm's for this) ... You should be able to hand edit them.
