Actually, SPF can reduce network load if implemented directly in qmail. Since it checks the Mail From and Source IP, it can drop connections before any data is sent. This saves in network usage.


The only reason I can see it being in spamassassin is to bump up the Spam Level a bit if there is no SPF record, or the record has ?all in it...
