If you're on any of the other qmail* lists, you've probably seen me struggling with installing an autoresponder. I did, however, just come across something that I hadn't realized, which is that you can allow users to edit their own vacation messages using the qmailadmin interface. I have two particular things about this toaster installation that might not make this possible:
A) I'm using an /etc/passwd userbase, as this is a migration from an older qmail installation. My hands are tied on this matter, I tried to get my boss to let me switch them over to the vpop thing, but its just a no go. B) This is pretty much a single domain machine, and as such the primary domain isn't in any of the virtualdomain settings. My question is this: can I add this primary domain that uses /etc/passwd users to the virtdomain lists, and/or will that mess anything up? If I can, this would solve virtually all of my problems. Also, I apologize for adding so much static to this list lately with a lot of my newbie-smelling questions. I'm not new to Linux by a long shot, but I am new to a lot of sysadmin things and am trying to make up for lost time and learning as much as I can. -- John Shireley Cook, Inc. jshireley @ cook-inc.com
