Looking at the docs, Vim's behavior is based on the startofline option
which isn't in vi. Basically this patch makes it like the Vim default
rather than vi (and Vim behaves this way even if 'compatible' is set).
Take or leave as you see fit (I doubt an option for this makes sense).
