It is much cleaner to script against a stable setup. It also provides for a better user experience: It should be always possible to switch to the fixed session, and more importantly there shouldn't be dummy windows floating around. Also, as you have correctly guessed, I do worry about atomicity. I've just come to the clue that it is probably much easier to add an option "create on move" to move-window (et al.). This would remedy most of the above worries. Thanks for your input. Maybe I can get something done next weekend.
