Here's a question from a potential "screen" defector:

Can tmux split a window into two panes, both of which are associated with
the same terminal session? If so, is it possible to put one of those panes
into copy mode while still being able to interact normally with the other
pane?

The use case motivating this question is being able to scroll back in the
history of a terminal session in order to refer to old commands or command
output while still being able to interact with a shell or other program
running "at the bottom" of that session.

Thanks,
Sam
