Thanks for the hint Nate.

I am not on Debian, but do check with GCC 10.2.0 regularly. (And from
time to time with clang and its tools).

We are aware of the warnings. They are mostly false positives about
string operations and one about a pointer initialization.

Anyhow it would be good to get rid of them.
