its hard to tell... First, it depends on it the Advantic folks made any changes to the telosb when they rolled it into the CM5000. Probably not.
If the advantic board is the same as the telosb, then here is how it works. At least this is how the telosb works. The telosb has provisions for a SMA connector but by default the SMA isn't loaded and the onboard PCB antenna is used. The choice is determined by the capactor C73 which can be loaded in one of two positions, 12 enables the PCB antenna while 13 enables the SMA. By default C73 is placed so the PCB is enabled. There is probably something similar on the CM5000. It is very unlikely that if you bought an CM5000-SMA that comes loaded with the SMA antenna that the PCB antenna is also enabled. It wouldn't work very well, at least for max range. The two antennas would interfer with each other. Not good. eric On Wed, Oct 23, 2013 at 1:32 PM, Jenis Modi <[email protected]>wrote: > Hi, > > I am using MTM- CM5000-SMA ( > http://www.advanticsys.com/wiki/index.php?title=CM5000-SMA) motes for my > experiment.
