You can enable tinyos frames by adding this to your makefile

CFLAGS=-DTFRAMES_ENABLED

But you do not want this. If you enable tinyos frames, then ONLY
tinyos frames will be received and transmitted. You want
IFRAMES_ENABLE (it could be called something different) to force the
stack to remove tinyos support. Very bad naming of constants of
course.

If you enable TFRAMES_ENABLED, then only ActiveMessageC is supported.
If you enable IFRAMES_ENABLED, then only IEEE frames are supported. If
you do not enable anything, then both are supported (with added code).
