As mat said,

When you use the tiddlywiki as a single file the whole file must be loaded. 
This is in part where a lot of its briliance comes from because every 
element is imediatly at hand in browser memory.

However there are ways to host tiddlywiki such as nodeJs where it operates 
somewhat differently. Think if the single file model as a cache and include 
items that are often referenced and externalise occasional use items. See
