Hello folks, I have re-launched the DesignWriteStudio, an open learning community for those interested in designing and writing interactive texts. Participants in the Studio include those enrolled credit-bearing classes for the SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Albany/Utica, NY, both graduate students in the Information Design & Technology program and undergraduates in the Communication & Information Design program.
- Anyone who is interested in working / playing / lurking in the Studio is welcome to join the "Open" class. I think of it as a SOOC - a "small" online open course -- to distinguish it from a MOOC - a massive online open course. There is a Google Group for the participants, and you may see a few of them in this group asking questions and looking for guidance and suggestions. - An outcome of the Studio will be a series of podcasts that I'll be recording -- with Jeremy Ruston as a co-commentator -- as we collaboratively read / discuss / wikify a fascinating book, From Papyrus to Hypertext, by Christian Vandendorpe <https://books.google.com/books?id=sfI4o4GiqKwC&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false>. These podcasts will be shared in the Studio beginning on February 1. - All wikis created in response to Studio exercises or by Studio participants will be shared and available for critique or viewing, so you may find it interesting to see what newbies do with TW. - And finally: you may find it interesting to see how we've implemented UpDog via Google Drive to manage and share TiddlyWiki files. Hope to see some folks in the Studio.
