Rich, This won't be the final answer to you're trying to do but there may be elements in it that will point you in the right direction.
In an earlier topic it was mentioned that Jeremy had done two presentation wikis which have some of the characteristics you may be looking for. Both of these hide the sidebar, the tiddler titles and essentially all the buttons. - The latest example (with prerelease version) : http://tiddlywiki.com/prerelease/editions/introduction/ - And a previous version september 2014 (5.1.3) : http://tiddlywiki.com/talkytalky/ There is a pale chevron in the upper right corner that allows you to show or hide the sidebar. In talkytalky, the selected colors are nearly invisible against the page background and the tiddler title bars and buttons become visible if you "hover" over them. Talkytalky uses a theme called Punch. Introduction uses a theme called Hide Furniture. As close as I can tell, it removes the tiddler titles and buttons completely. Introduction also has a theme called ReadOnly which it says removes all the editing features. Like I said, these may serve as a starting point for you... or we may get lucky and one may have just what you need.
