I pasted your code directly into a tiddler, then pointed the href to a 
page, and it works fine for me.

Perhaps you are using some unique backgrounds or images that are different 
from mine.

If you want to change the visited link characteristics, you can add a 
stylesheet to your TW or even add styles directly within your tiddler by 
adding a style tag at the top.
