hello all,

first of all, the listserv must not die!

secondly, this show recently appeared on etree and i'm on the torrent
right now but there's only one person sharing it. it was a fantastic
show and this is the first time a recording has been circulated so
anyone interested should jump on the torrent... i'll seed it when i'm
done downloading but i still have 7 hours.. setlist from slipbase:

11/22/2003: Colby College: Waterville, ME
Set I: Intro> "Instrumental in 4"*> slight "Song" tease> Get Me with
Fuji, Dear Melina^, Something Learned, Nellie Jean> Aptos, Love and
Tears&
Set II: Cumulus#, Mudslide!, Soft Machine^, (Take A) Beetle to the
Badlands%, Happy Snails@
Notes: * I believe this is the same intro played at Pearl st. 11/21;
it's a pretty slow but funky jam over I to IV7. ^ with Marc on guitar.
& with Blue Moon tease. # with Brad on sitar. (I've seen Cumulus on
the Sitar referred to as "Concubus" before. also included a jam
similar to the Cumulus jam heard at 5/09/03 and 10/31/03, and a tease
of a tune Chloe told me was called "hit em up style". ! with Brad on
sitar and tape recorder. $ with Marc on guitar, also with Brad playing
the cuica and the windy music-box thing. % Brad asked what song we
wanted to hear next, and there was a huge shout out for Beetle. the
verse included "take a wagon to waterville" and Brad made a little
speech about how maybe we would one day all be driving biodiesel cars
and how it's important for people to talk to each other and travel and
network and learn from the people and things in the world. @ with Tim
on shakers. Brad also took a solo on the PVC pipes while Andrew went
back to the kit; I think there was also a brief tease of some 80s tune
here. [ tasoula <taso at ecomail.org> - Sunday, November 23, 2003 ]

p.s. the intro is the tune that we now know as 'more intense surveillance'...

p.p.s. what the hell happened to 'something learned?!' or should i
say 'chrysanthemum'....
