The show was sold out, mainly thanks to the people who were there to see
Saul Williams. The Slip opened the show with an early set that included
Fuji, Tinderbox, an instrumental from Angels, and some new material. Then
Saul took the stage, followed by DJ Spooky. There was some collaboration
between Saul and Spooky at the beginning of Spooky's set. Unfortunately
that was the extent of it. The Slip came back for a final set and played
some more new songs, Sometimes True to Nothing, and one off Jumby that I'm
spacing the name of, among others. Towards the end of the show people were
asking "Where's Saul?," to which Brad replied that "if any of those guys are
still around they are more than welcome to come onstage." Of course, this
was not to be. All in all though, I thought it was a great concert with a
phenomenal, eclectic lineup. Here's to more shows like this one across the
country.
