The best way to describe Kuumbwa is to think about the slip playing in your living
room. The room itself is very small and cozy with carpeted floors and paitings of jazz
ledgends on the walls. Show started promptly at 8pm and opened with Catacea. The first
set was filled with older tunes. From Catacea they went into what i think was Johnny's
tune but i could be wrong. Rustic hop and then Highlands followed, with a really nice
solo intro by brad on Highlands. Sometimes theres wine was dedicated to Brad and
Andrews mom who was sitting front row. The set ended with Aptos.

This is where it all gets a little fuzzy. The second set started with the
Nylon-string Indian instrumental. At the end someone yelled out asking for a song
name. Brad said it was a song of unknown origin and left it at that. Next song was
Soft machine.
For the third song brad picked up his black and white guitar ( stratocaster ?) and
played a song familiar to me and played at the last sommerville theatre show which
segued into what I called the sector 9ish techno song from yesterday and then back to
the original. The sector 9ish sound has some great looping effects by brad. After
that, a few ballads, Rhythm-a-ning and an encore. For the encore brad asked a guy in
the front row what he wanted to hear. I didn't hear what he said and didn't recognize
the song, but it was a slower/ ballad type song.

Another good show...the first set had better energy I thought but the Song of Unknown
Origin and the sector9 ish techno tune were definitely highlights of the second set
for me.

yoshis anyone?
