Friday March 7th The Cellblock Williamsport, pa
I went out to the show with 3 others from State College. The venue blew me away.. I heard a little bit about it before we went. The place used to be a prison....a huge 100 year old stone prison. I dont even remember seeing a sign out front. There were these huge stone steps leading up to the big wooden front door. Right inside the door was a big wooden chair with straps on it...an electric chair! Once inside, we weer lost for a few minutes. Walking down a few corridors, with about 4 different bars in the whole place. There was an irish pub upstairs, a dance club at the end of the main corridor, and a big room where the band played off to the left. I would guess approx. 400 people checking out the Slip..
opening band Lumpy Gravy...missed them completely, except a minute of their last song. Thought by their name they would be a Zappa cover band. Anyway, the Slip started a little after 11...short set break, 2nd set ended at 210, no encore.
So I guess this was the tour opener. I dont have a setlist..missed about 5-10 minutes of the beginning of each set. Heres a little bit of what I remember..
Nellie Jean
Witch in the Kitchen not sure if this was played
Dogs on Bikes
Dear Milena definately added something to this song since I heard it at Berkfest. A new lyrics section towards the end of the song.
Rhythm and Gold different lyrics at the end.. something about rhythm and gold in the heart of the whitehouse
Thats about all I can think of for now. Definately a new song or 2, lots of improv, Andrew soloing... good times.
Wish I could make it to Wilkes Barre tonight, but I have no ride, boooo.. Guess my next show is Creekside, enjoy!
