It seems that texlive does not build the asy binary of asymptote. A bugzilla about this for 2011 is here:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=681231 (texlive-asymptote (from TeXlive 2011) doesn't provide the binaries (?)) The solution to the missing binary is to install the stock Fedora asymptote.
