FYI, regarding these two:

    * ec
    Reason: Red Hat Legal says the license is non-free, primarily because of
    the requirement that modifications must always be accompanied by
    unmodified originals.

    * midnight
    It is non-free, because it forces you to distribute only with the
    accompanying documentation.

Just so you know they're in process ... I asked brett/rms/bkuhn about
this interpretation, because it is a radical departure from my
understanding.  (E.g., both TeX and the QPL required distributing
modified versions as patches, and that was accepted.)

No final decision rendered yet.  I guess they are going to call Fontana.


(It would cause a lot of real hassle for users to remove EC, much more
so than anything else on your list, so I don't want to do it lightly.)
