Old Athlon 64 X2 PC has both F41 and F42, until tonight, last upgraded 10 weeks ago. Initially, 41 refused to run dnf upgrade without segfaulting, as noted in my thread in users list 3 hours ago, but dnf clean all fixed it.
42 is another story. After initial upgrade, I installed the 6.14.11 kernel, which worked just fine. Then I tried to install 6.15.8. Attempting to boot it produced lots of SSD access timeouts before refusing to continue. I rebooted into 6.14.11, removed 6.15.8, then installed 6.15.7. That produced no apparent difference from 6.15.8, so I booted 6.14.11 once more, removed 6.15.7, then installed kwizart's 6.12.39. It works normally. I note the 6.15 initrds are ~18.6% larger than those of 6.12.39, ~18.0% larger than 6.14.11, and ~24.6% larger than 6.13.11. 42's 6.15.7 initrd is 36.6% bigger than TW's 6.12.39. I haven't changed anything in dracut configuration to trigger its growth. No Fedora bootloader is installed. PC boots all 30+ Linux installations exclusively from openSUSE 13.1's Grub Legacy. "Newest" kernels on it that boot are 41/42's 6.14.11, Fedora's and Tumbleweed's 6.12.39, and Trixie's 6.12.38 -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science.
