A bit more data I didn't set fa_IR but using my usual US English
settings I opened a file made some edits and click the x in the windpr
cprner to close gedit without saving and it came up with the warning
asking me if I wanted to save first. I clicked discard and it closed
normally. When I reopened the file the edits were not present as I would
expect.
