No plymouth, so screen clears scrolling boot messages, then 4 new lines, last being: Reached target Basic System. Absent remote login, reset button is required to resume activity of any kind.
Is this a known problem solvable by some kernel cmdline option? F35, Tumbleweed and Debian 11 with backport 5.14 kernel all do the same thing. # inxi -Cyz CPU: Info: 6-Core model: 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11400 bits: 64 type: MT MCP cache: L2: 3 MiB Speed: 2985 MHz min/max: 800/4400 MHz Core speeds (MHz): 1: 2494 2: 2388 3: 3985 4: 3584 5: 2238 6: 2466 7: 3530 8: 3026 9: 3369 10: 3373 11: 2570 12: 2319 # inxi -GMSayz System: Kernel: 5.16.0-0.rc4.20211207gitcd8c917a56f2.30.fc36.x86_64 x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 2.37-22.fc36 parameters: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz root=LABEL=<filter> noresume audit=0 ipv6.disable=1 net.ifnames=0 consoleblank=0 nomodeset 3 Console: pty pts/0 DM: SDDM Distro: Fedora release 36 (Rawhide) Machine: Type: Desktop System: ASUS product: N/A v: N/A serial: N/A Mobo: ASUSTeK model: PRIME B560M-A v: Rev 1.xx serial: <filter> UEFI: American Megatrends v: 1203 date: 10/27/2021 Graphics: Device-1: Intel RocketLake-S GT1 [UHD Graphics 730] vendor: ASUSTeK driver: N/A alternate: i915 bus-ID: 00:02.0 chip-ID: 8086:4c8b class-ID: 0300 Display: server: X.org 1.20.11 driver: loaded: modesetting alternate: fbdev, vesa Message: Advanced graphics data unavailable for root. Same lack of hits on bugzilla.kernel.org. I reported this bug yesterday against Leap 15.4alpha installer: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1193640 It got moved to kernel. Need I report on BRC, or is there a workaround Google hasn't coughed up for me? -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science. Team OS/2 ** Reg.
