Fedora 32

ifup/ifdown warns me it is about to be depreciated and
to use NetworkManager instead.

Question:

Why does
       # /usr/sbin/NetworkManager down eno2

not disconnect me, but
       # nmcli dev disconnect eno2

does?

Many thanks,

/usr/libexec/nm-ifdown eno2
/usr/libexec/nm-ifup eno2

also works.

Which one should I use to avoid being depreciated?
