The menu should be included in the screenshot. The screenshot is
performed flawlessly if the menu is closed.
It seems that this is a X11 problem.

Hi Joachim,
While this might be a different direction then your original question: I
enjoy using the software shutter for creating screenshots.
Maybe using shutter would be a successful alternative software and
workflow for you.
