After some amount of time, audio seems to die when running Fedora 17. That is, I no longer get sound and the volume icon no longer appears in the gnome-shell top bar.
Incidentally, I believe it is after this occurs that I see bug 794929. I get no abrt event whenever audio goes away; so I'm not even sure exactly what's dying.
