I'm going to just throw this out there:
I like Fluxbox, and have been running it since F13.  Fluxbox does not have it's 
own 
Network Manager interface.  So, what I use is 'nm-applet'.  For some reason, it 
is
still there in /usr/bin (not that I'm complaining).  It works fine standing 
alone without
any other Gnome components loaded.  Since it was included in my clean F15 
install,
I assume that it is still available.  I have had no functionality issues at all 
with it.
