later, i've found that adding a nameserver to resolv.conf does'nt help, so i rebooted. at the second install attempt, the mouse was still not working so i kept pressing f12 until an unhandled exception hit. at that point, "Details" was selected so i press enter, and get a "the computer will be rebooted when you'll press CTRL_ALT_DEL" third time, i got lucky: after testing the netinst cd (two times) , the mouse worked, the nameserver was already there, and when the unhandled exception occured, i added myself to the cc of the existing bug. i'll try again with the dvd, when the download completes.
