LBA32 mode, yes - but it does need a post-98 BIOS. Julie's new machine
should be fine, but I wouldn't bet on slightly older machines - or new
machines with older SCSI cards - supporting it properly...

Even if you CAN boot from one giant partition, I wouldn't recommend it,
especially with ext2. If you look at VA Linux's site, they recommend
having a fairly small /boot, then several distinct partitions; most of the
sysadmin books I've seen recommend splitting up your disk this way too.
