hi lizzy, try running inetd with -d (debug) option not from rc.local. it will give u important debugging information. try running inetd with -q (quelength) option. it is basically no of servers. u told rlogin is working. so u can change the login program of telnetd to rlogin. by default it is /bin/login. in.telnetd -L loginprog. in /etc/inetd.conf i hope u have a config file for xinetd in /etc. let me know what happend. arindam the MAD!!!!!!
