Wait up, wait up... You know what? Not everyone in Windowsland was a complete IT moron! The only previous contact I'd had with UNIX was FTPing - and I made through without a hitch. Anyone who's about to make a jump into the unknown will read everyone manual and introductory text they can find - and that introductin to bash on LDP + Red Hat Installation guide was enough to get me going. I didn't mess up my Linux installation for another 8 months! :-) > "Recompile the kernel? I don't want popcorn right now!" > "The scheduler? My calendar thingy on my Palm Pilot is good enough for me!" > "Cron? Oh, you mean Tron, the guy that lived inside the computer!" > "Why do I need a driver? I can drive, as long as it's an automatic." I mean really! What's really missing is intermediate stuff - seems that guides out there are either holding your hand or dumping you into the lions den with only your broken nails and sensitive teeth to defend you...
