I do not believe this later statement.

I think it is a boot-time configuration step which is not handled *our ACPI 
code*

Which just happens to have deep consequence that a part of the machine hiding
behind the AML layer isn't configured correctly.

I am saying it is our fault.  We just don't know yet what the exact reason is to
bring these GPE issues under correct management.
