That's funny, because basically that glue is supposed to make things *more portable*... so having it not work with a newer version would definitely mean we need to ask upstream to fix their software. eventually, it should settle down. Putting the blame in the right location so that it gets fixed for everyone looks to me to be the best course of action, unless it proves too time-consuming.
