Are all the VM's running inside your laptop?
I know you said you're using virtualbox ... But what host OS are you using?

I forget the details in virtualbox, but here's what I can do in fusion (and I'm
sure there's something analogous in virtualbox). I go to
my guest VM settings, network adapter, and then I have the option for Shared /
Bridged / Private. If I select shared, then fusion creates a private network
for the guest, creates a virtual adapter on my host, with an IP in the guest
private range. I think you're looking for something like that, and I'm pretty
sure you can manually set the various guests to all be in the same private
range, on the same virtual switch.
