Do check out Ansible; it was incredibly easy to get started doing useful stuff with it, and it's done everything I've needed it to do so far without a lot of fuss.
I've started using Ansible because of some of the annoying restrictions in my environment. It has some very useful features, such as running agentless, which also means it does not have to run with elevated priveleges. Being able to do application configuration without using root is very nice. It understands using passwords for ssh and sudo (more frustrations with my environment) and I can run everything from my workstation.
I strongly recommend the recently released book by Lorin Hochstein, available on Safari Books.

It's what I can remember in time to use. _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list Tech@lists.lopsa.org https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
