My second grade and fifth grade kids use Linux on a desktop in the living room, and are happy about that. My fifth-grader has an 11" netbook running Windows for in-school usage as a disability accomodation, and he complains about that all the time. It's a desktop in the living room, with a largish screen, because that way any parent walking by can see what's going on. We find that this is the smoothest way of handling problematic content. > So I thought about getting her a chromebook where she would be the only > person to use it as it will not be out there on the desk. As long as a chromebook has reliable wifi, it's a perfectly usable machine. Without reliable wifi, it's more or less useless. -dsr- _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list Tech@lists.lopsa.org https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
