fsck is somewhat more reliable now than it used to be. Some of my earliest
jobs involved fixing systems where someone had (manually) answered "y" to
all questions and it destroyed their filesystem. (I got altogether too good
at putting Altos's version of BSD FFS back together.) I would still verify
-y's behavior before relying on it.
