+1 for the Airport Express.  I have one that I use for exactly that
purpose, it goes wherever I do when I travel. I even used it in Japan
once at the Hilton Tokyo Bay and never had any problems.

The best thing about the Express is that you don't have to do anything
with it other than configure it at home once then plug it in and plug
the ethernet cable into it at the hotel. You don't have to spend time
fussing with settings on your laptop and you can use multiple devices
with it at the same time.
