And I see that is also from the C standard .. I think it is
an error, but only in non-normative text (an example) - if
someone were to point it out to them, it really should be
corrected, as what is supposed to be accepted is clear from
the normative text (what strtod() accepts as its subject
sequence) and for that the exponent is optional, and what is
to be accepted is the longest initial sequence which is OK.
