Hello, As promised, I've submitted two pull requests for upstream libarchive. I submitted the second one just today because I was waiting for almost a month to hear feedback for the first one, and now I've given up waiting.
Here they are: https://github.com/libarchive/libarchive/pull/1289 https://github.com/libarchive/libarchive/pull/1300 With those two patches the bsdtar program gets feature parity with our existing pax-as-tar implementation, and can be a drop in replacement (without needing additional flags). I would like to commit the changes to our CVS repository, and switch the default back to libarchive. Best, christos
