my friend ray who manages www.vidvox.com forum, came across this same problem
last week he told me. He spend like 20 hours deleteing off spam message.

this seems like a problem more severe then the surface.

maybe this info can help you out that he told me. He couldn't deleted all
message from one IP, as the spams were all from multiple IP's suggesting
advance proxy and distributive networking.

he did a search on diff forums, this problem seems to started on dozens of
forums during the last week. the spam messages have similiar and same messages.
Meaning its prolly from the same data set of spam messages. or same source.
this also might suggest its from a bot.

the "bot" also was able to tunnel through there other forum's registrations
process, there for posting as real users and not guests. === bad.

seems to me that someone finally made a forum bot to spam ppl. Even if you were
to nuke the forum, i think this problem will still be here.

it sucks cuz you cant even set a hammer limit per IP, since it uses proxying.

maybe we could set up a filter set that scans all posts for keyword identifiers
pulled from a black list, along with a white list to prevent wanted posts from
getting elminated.
