I agree it would be wonderful to have a starters guide to Hivemind. I've
come to learn how to do a number of things with Hivemind mostly by
learning from example from sources like
http://www.theserverside.com/articles/article.tss?l=HivemindBuzz and
Kent's book, but I still feel like I don't fully understand many of the
basic constructs and there just isn't a good resource or book out there
to explain them to me (especially since I've never had much exposure to
other IOC containers like Spring before running into Hivemind).

Congratulations. Have the docs on upgrading from T3 improved much in
the last couple of months? I tried converting our Tapestry 3
application to T4 back in August, around b6 or b7 or so, and got
utterly, hopelessly, completely, totally lost.

(I'm looking at
http://jakarta.apache.org/tapestry/UsersGuide/upgrade.html right now and
don't see huge changes.)

In particular, is there a decent explanation of HiveMind anywhere? I
was utterly unable to wrap my head around it back in August, which is
probably the biggest reason my upgrade attempt was a failure.
