Sounds like you may be getting the Sim lock and phone lock codes mixed up! Try
removing the Sim card and turning on your phone with the Sim out of it and see
if it prompts you for the code or not. If it doesn't prompt you for a code!
Then you are talking about the Sim lock code and if you type it in, you may
lock the Sim. However if that is the case, you can call your cell phone
provider and they can give you the PUK2 code to unlock the Sim. So the Sim has
both a PUK and PUK2 code. They are different.

If you did lock the phone! You can do an hard reset on it and the phone would
be reformated and then you should be able to restore from the backup you have.

I think the hard reset that will wipe all the data has to be done with the
phone initially off. Then you press and hold the Star, 3 and call while holding
down those 3 keys! You press the power as well hold for about 10 seconds and
then release.

However I could be wrong on the number of keys to hold all at the same time
with the phone off. If you want to find out for sure! GOOGLE is your friend.

Subject: [Talks] Pin code n86

I changed my lock code but I don't recall changing the pin code. What's the n86
default pin code? I tried 1 2 3 4 5 and now I think it said I was down to two
tries. I would imagine if I get it wrong two more times I might lock up my n86
permanently. (yikes)
