You could try removing the memory card and then turning on the phone with
the memory card out to see if it has issues.
If not, then you may need to try a Soft reset *#7780# to see if that fixes
it.
If it still has issues, Then you may try formatting the 8GB internal drive
then turning off and on the phone to see if that fixes the issue.
Lastly you may need to do an full format *#7370#.

Have an n86 and for some reason it will shut off after maybe 30 seconds. I
get AT & T announcement, have a shortcut to contacts which is announced
but if I am not fast enough to choose a contact and start to make a call

phone will shut off completely. Battery is fully charged.
Any thoughts?
