OK When you turn off your phone and turn it back on with the battery at 4 or
5 bars it would be normal for it to show a lower number of bars when you
turn it back on. Try leaving it on over night and see if the battery still
drops as much. Nothing else, switch it to silant at night if you don't want
to be bothered.
Yes the phone should show charging when you plug it in regardless if it is
on or off as long as it isn't all the way charged to start with. In this
case, it could be the charger that you are using that is the issue as far as
it not putting out the correct voltage to power the phone when it is turned
on. But that is just a guess on my part. You could try a different charger
and see if that makes a difference.

hi stephen.
thankyou for taking the time to reply to my message.
ok this is a battery problem, not a network signal problem.
when i go to bed i switch my phone off and it will maybe have 4 or 5 bars
of battery life left.
when i switch it on in the morning it will be 2 or 3 bars and when i
connect my charger to it all i get is a sort of ding sound (not the usual
ping for connecting the charger) and talks will announce that the phone is
not charging.
regards.

Question: You said that the battery is down to 2 dars when you get up?
What
is the battery at when you go to bed? It could be just the fact you need
to
place the phone in a different spot so that it gets a better signal when
you
go to bed. As a example: When I go to sleep, I have to stand my phone up
in
the summer so that it gets a better signal. If I lay it down, it doesn't
get
a signal. This isn't a issue in the winter. This is why I asked how many
bars are on the phone when you go to sleep and you've already told us it
has
2 bars when you get up.

Subject: [Talks] nokia n95 battery life
hello list.
ok, i have a nokia n95 and am finding that the battery life is very poor.
i am not that heavy a user, but am charging the phone every morning.
can anyone advise on if there any settings that can be changed to allow
me to get more out of the battery?
another thing is that if the battery indicator shows 2 bars of battery
life left or less, then when i connect the charger to the phone it will
always announce that the phone is not charging.
for me to charge the phone i have to switch it off completely and then
connect the charger.
is this normal with this phone or is there something wrong?
all help is greatly appreciated.
regards.
