Well to bring this back on topic! When you are trying to restore your contacts! Keep doing a Talks up Arrow to see if it stops at the same number each time. When it is done, see if the same number has always been restored. Now depending on how you have your list sorted by Last Name or First name! Go and see what the next contact is in the directory of the memory card Then move that file out of that directory. More then likely that file has become bad or has content in it that the phone doesn't know how to handle. I've seen this on my N86 when trying to restore a bunch of contacts the phone would always stop on the same contact and wouldn't restore it. When I remove that contact entry out of the directory on the memory card; Then the phone was able to then do a restore on them. By default if you have a drive E: on your phone, the Contacts are in E:/Others/Contacts If you have a drive F: like the N86 does; You can select where your contact are backed up to as far as drive E: or F:. In either case of the drive letter being used! The contacts or in Drive:/Others/Contacts The Drive should be replaced with the letter that you used when backing your contacts up. Mass storage is drive E: and Memory card is drive F:. If you do not have a Mass Storeage then the memory card will be drive E:. No I never did figgure out why the phone didn't like the contact that it didn't want to restore. Signed: Stephen Giggar Skype: dr-phone. Hardware eventually fails, software eventually works.
