Hey Jen, I have the same phone and think I can help you out. Don't beat yourself up for not finding those characters on the keypad -- they're not there. What you have to do is select them from the symbols list. To access that, hit the "talks" button" (bottom right hand corner) twice while in a text message, email etc. It will then pull up a list of punctuation marks, currency signs and other common symbols. Scroll through the list using the left and right arrow keys until you find the bracket you want. There are different types on the list, like parentheses and those simply called brackets, so you have a choice.
