thanks Allan, i do not need to silence the ring, i just press talks and up
arrow and can learn the caller. but sometimes this does not work.

yes, the ringer tone will continue play after the announcement. if you miss
the announcement, than you have to press key2 to silence
the tone and press talks+upArrow to manually read the caller ID.
